Disney Holiday - Downtown Disney

Our last Disney day was spent in Downtown Disney. There are lots of shops to explore and some great restaurants. I was able to get some last minute souveniers. I secretly bought one of these. The day after we returned home, I surprised Sophie with Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes for breakfast! She couldn't believe her eyes and shouted, "How did this happen? Mickey pancakes! But we're not at Disney anymore!"

After meeting Chip & Dale, Sophie decided to be a chipmunk.

For some reason Sophie was afraid of Jimny Cricket and would only have her picture taken with him if I stood beside her.

Our Disney Holiday - Magic Kingdom

We had such a wonderful time! We're already planning on a return trip next year.
I tried to take a nice picture of Sophie in front of Cinderella's castle but she kept her eyes closed. I asked her to open her eyes but she told me, "I can't! The sun keeps closing them!"
What a thrill for Sophie to meet Winnie the Pooh! He's her favourite! Thanks Catherine, for your tip sheets! Sophie was able to get his autograph.


Another big thrill for Sophie was to meet Arial the mermaid.

We're outta here!

I know that I just posted that we are back, but now we're leaving for a much needed holiday. Enough of this cold weather and endless snow shoveling! On Monday we're catching a flight to sunny Florida to have a fun visit with Mickey Mouse. I can't begin to tell you how excited Sophie is! I'll fill you in on how the trip went when we return.

We're Back!

I took a bit of a break.....okay, a long break, but I'm now back. I was debating about whether to shut my blog down or to continue. So I've decided to pick it up again although I'm not guaranteeing that I will do regular posts. I will probably blog once a week or so. We'll see.

We're still in line for China although I really have my doubts whether it will really happen. We've been waiting over 27 months now and the end is still not in sight. This site predicts that we might get a referral in August 2012. That's still another 3.5 years away which means that we haven't even hit the halfway point yet.

On a happier note, it was 4 years ago today that this happened!

18 Months Closer

....and trying so hard to stay positive. Please pass me some more of those happy pills. Or some chocolate will do quite nicely right now!

Happy Anniversary!

24 years ago today I married my funny, loving, understanding, and hardworking soulmate. Almost every day Sophie tells me that "Daddy is the best daddy in the world". He has to work late tonight because one of his employees resigned yesterday after giving only 24 hours notice. Jamie has to do the work of two people today. Did I mention that he's hardworking? It looks like we'll go out and celebrate our anniversary sometime next weekend. So it will be a dinner in tonight for two...Sophie and me.

Our 3rd Family Day!

Three years ago today our lives changed forever when this precious baby girl was placed in our arms.

That was one of the most happiest moments of my life and I can't imagine our lives without her!
